Whatman Road  Honor Oak, London

Whatman Road is a charming two-storey Victorian property in Honor Oak with a very small kitchen to the rear. Due to the slight hill, the houses are situated on, the property to our side extension was noticeably lower than ours which made the party wall junction even more difficult than usual. The wall has been lowered by over half a meter to minimise the impact on the neighbours.

Stepping further into the garden the lowered seating area creates a lush space with the advantage of privacy maximising the small garden measuring only 8m.

The extension only added 14sqm but created a subtle transition to the garden with light timber elements of maple matching the bespoke sliding doors. On the exterior a beautiful pale brick, concrete lintel and white doors completed the extension.

To the front of the house, the maple joinery has been continued with a library and recessed pivot door.
